Hope to take many more: Rohit Sharma delighted with India’s fielding brilliance in Vizag Test

After a disappointing loss in the opening Test in Hyderabad, Team India made a remarkable comeback in the second Test at Vizag, defeating the visitors by 106 runs on Monday.

There were some standout individual performances that orchestrated India’s win but one of the crucial factor was team’s athletic fielding.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma took a stunning reflex catch at slip to dismiss in-form Ollie Pope to put India in front.

Shreyas Iyer then produced a magical direct throw to run-out England skipper Ben Stokes after the tea and ended visitor’s hope of pulling off another heist.

“As a slip fielder, you are always ready for it. Idea is to just stay feel and then react. It was a crucial wicket for us because Ollie Pope was somebody who was in good form”, Rohit said in the video shared by BCCI.

“I hope to take many more [catches] in the series”, the Indian skipper added.

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer also opened up about his brilliant run-out and said that now he and Ben Stokes are even.

“We are even steven in terms of him taking a brilliant catch of mine in second innings and also the run-out. So, we are even steven now”, Iyer said.
