When teams make multiple changes for a match, you can consider them having a topsy-turvy campaign. Well, it holds true for both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), who both have made a combined five changes for Match 53 of the IPL 2025. KKR won the toss and elected to bat first at the iconic Eden Gardens.
Who are the players coming in for KKR vs RR match?
Talking about hosts KKR, they are coming on the back of a superb away win over the Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 29. You’d expect them to continue with the winning combination. However, it wasn’t the case as KKR have gone with horses for courses. Moeen Ali, who often played at the Eden Gardens, finds a spot yet again, this time at the expense of Rovman Powell.
To cover for Powell’s batting, KKR have brought back Ramandeep Singh. Ramandeep would hope for a better outing today as he has only scored 30 runs at an average of 7.5 so far.
As for RR, the delightful news of Wanindu Hasaranga is back as the Sri Lankan maestro finds a place after not being available in the previous loss to the Mumbai Indians (MI). Meanwhile, Nitish Rana, who was expected to do well against his former team has been ruled out of the match due to a niggle, with Kunal Rathore finding a spot. Yudhvir Charak has also find a place, with Fazalhaq Farooqi going out.
