And here we go. On Sunday, in the second match between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, the latter have won the toss and opted to bowl first. This happens to be a huge occasion for both skippers, Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill, who are leading their respective sides, for the very first time.
In his very first match as MI skipper, Hardik went in with a blend of youth and experience, and brought in the likes of Naman Dhir, Gerald Coetzee and Luke Wood. In fact, the team named as many as four debutants for the match against Gujarat, surprising everyone.
A couple of them were forced for sure as Dilshan Madushanka and Jason Behrendorff were ousted of the tournament due to untimely injuries. In fact, Suryakumar Yadav, who is with the team, isn’t fully fit either. Due to these absentees, Mumbai will rely on the services of Rohit and Ishan for batting, with Bumrah taking care of bowling department.
