CSK are gearing up to take Kolkata Knight Riders on an epic IPL 2024 clash at the Chepauk Stadium. CSK who are coming from a loss against DC will look to bounce back against in-form Kolkata Knight Riders. Chennai suffered a new blow as Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the highly contested CSK vs KKR clash.
After winning the toss and choosing to field Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that the team suffered a huge blow with Deepak Chahar being out of the clash with the niggle. Earlier Matheesha Pathirana has also been ruled out with injury. However, on a positive note, Mustafizur Rahman is back into the lineup.
“They are playing a good brand of cricket, we want to keep things simple and want to focus on ourselves. Pathirana is not available, Mustafizur is back. Deepak has a niggle so he misses out, Shardul comes in and Rizvi comes back.” said Ruturaj.
Major blow for CSK
Deepak Chahar has featured in all four matches for CSK thus far. However, the right-arm pacer hasn’t quite hit his stride, managing just four wickets with an economy rate of 9.16. Despite this, his injury appears to be minor, and he is anticipated to make a swift comeback. Chahar will be eager to rediscover his peak form once he resumes action.
