Typhoon Prapiroon lashed China’s southernmost island province of Hainan on July 22. Emergency personnel evacuated people from a tanker trapped in flood waters. The water level had reached the passenger window of the tanker. Prapiroon is named for Thai rain god and is the second tropical cyclone to hit China this year. Another typhoon, Gaemi, is expected to skirt northern Taiwan before landfall in China later this week
