Australia clinched the three-match Test series against Pakistan, after winning the third match by eight wickets. The standout performer of the series was none other than the Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, who earned the title of Player of the Series. Cummins demonstrated exceptional skill, claiming a total of 19 wickets throughout the series.
“Really happy with how it’s all gone. Rhythm felt great the whole series. It was my turn this one to take a few wickets, which is great. Don’t think I have to take too much credit for that. Everything seemed to work this summer. A couple of moments where we fell right behind it, but one of the boys stepped up and found a way to get us back into the contest.” said Cummins reflecting on Australia’s clean sweep.

“Huge series for Mitchy (Marsh), in every Test, he contributed with the bat and a couple of key wickets at key moments. He is thriving, just showing how good he is. A guy that puts a lot of pressure on the opposition. He walked out in some really tricky spots and made it his own.”
Australia’s skipper, Pat Cummins, acknowledged the formidable challenge of replacing David Warner in Test cricket following Warner’s final match on January 6, where Australia triumphed over Pakistan. Cummins praised Warner for his aggressive batting over 12 years, emphasizing the difficulty of filling his shoes.

“It’s going to be hard to replace Davey, he’s basically played every game for the last dozen years, he’s a huge personality; he really sets the game up with the way he plays every time he walks out. He’s going to be huge to replace. We’ll enjoy him for the next day or so while we’ve still got him around,” Cummins was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.
Warner, who scored 57 runs in his farewell Test, received a rousing reception from the SCG crowd. Post-match, Warner expressed gratitude to the fans and commended the Australian team’s efforts in international cricket. Earlier, Warner retired from ODI cricket to prioritize family time, concluding his 50-over career in the World Cup final against India.
