DRS May 28: Gill to skip India A tour, Pant finally shines & Gambhir opposed Sudharsan selection?

Rishabh Pant finally managed to break free from the shackles of poor form with a scintillating ton in LSG’s final game in IPL 2025. The timing couldn’t have been better as he is all set to act as Gill’s deputy in the series against England. The new Test captain, who was supposed to be a part of the 2nd unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, is all set to miss the tour. Meanwhile, the BCCI has made amends by reinstating a member of the support staff who never deserved the axe in the first place. On that note, let us take a look at the top headlines from Tuesday.

The Gautam Gambhir-Shubman Gill combination hasn’t even started, and reports of disagreements have already emerged. Apparently, the Indian head coach denied the idea of having Sai Sudharsan in India’s squad for the five-match Test series against England, starting on June 20. While the southpaw was finally drafted in, it wasn’t until the new designated captain, Shubman Gill, had a “half-hour” persuasion task to convince Gambhir. Read more here.

Rohit Sharma not interested in IPL 2025?

Rohit Sharma hasn’t been anywhere near his best in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He might be Mumbai Indians’ (MI) third-best scorer this season, with 329 runs, but when compared to other batters, Rohit isn’t even close to the best. According to former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan, Rohit has looked as motivated or focused to light up the IPL 2025. Read more here.
