Gambhir leaves Team India
Before the intrasquad match between India and India A, Gautam Gambhir has returned home. The head coach has gone back to India to tend to his ailing mother, who has been admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) in Delhi. There is no update regarding when he’ll return to England.
How Rohit Sharma can get fit
According to former Indian fast bowler Yograj Singh, he told current India ODI captain Rohit Sharma that he can help him regain his fitness. Many have criticised Rohit for his bulky look and Yograj says he advice him to run 20 kilometers at 5 in the morning to get fit. Did Rohit take his advice? Yograj didn’t mention that.
Shreyas Iyer, not a Test player?
Harbhajan Singh has played devil’s advocate and explained why the BCCI didn’t select Shreyas Iyer for the India vs England Test series. The former Indian spinner thinks that perhaps Shreyas changing his technique for white-ball cricket may have forced the selectors to look elsewhere, as they may think he’s not fit to play Test cricket right now.

How to manage Bumrah’s workload
Jasprit Bumrah’s former India teammate, Ravichandran Ashwin, thinks that the BCCI hasn’t done a great job handling the pacer. He thinks that they haven’t been tracking Burmah’s fitness correctly. Ashwin believes the pacer’s fitness should be monitored after each practice and during matches at all times. Then perhaps he might even play all the Test matches against England.
New Pakistan batting coach
Current Pakistan and NCA batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has handed his resignation to the PCB due to personal reasons. Yousuf had taken over in March and after just 3 months, he decided to leave. Now, the PCB has to fill yet another coaching position.
Babar Azam to play in BBL
For the first time in his career, Babar Azam will play in the BBL. 3-time champions Sydney Sixers have signed the former Pakistan captain for the 2025-26 season. He will play alongside Steve Smith, among others. Babar has already played in franchise tournaments like the PSL, CPL, BPL, LPL, and Vitality Blast.
