Chennai Super Kings will be eyeing to finish what has been a miserable IPL 2025 campaign on a high note with a win against table toppers GT. MS Dhoni and co. have had one of their worst-ever IPL seasons, managing to win just three out of 13 matches played so far. While the side has nothing to lose, they can surely hamper GT’s chances of staying in the top two by handing them an upset.

Once again, CSK will depend on young guns Mhatre, Urvil and Brevis to do the heavy lifting in terms of batting. The trio have been quite impressive ever since their arrival to the side and have in fact breathed life into what was otherwise a hapless batting display from Dhoni and co.
There won’t be much expectations from the captain himself, as he is set to bat very much down the order.
In terms of bowling, CSK might want to leave out Ashwin from the playing XI. Jadeja will play a crucial role in tackling the Jos Buttler menace. Departing from an usual pattern, Pathirana is expected to bowl in the powerplay as he has managed to get rid of Sai Sudharsan twice in the past. Khaleel Ahmed is expected to partner the Sri Lankan in the first six overs as he too has gotten rid of Shubman Gill twice in the past.
