Out of the two run outs, Mujeeb Ur Rahman departed first. The wicket fell due to the lack of communication between the Afghan batters in the middle. Arshdeep bowled a back-of-length delivery well outside off stump. Naveen ul Haq had a wild swing at it but missed the ball. Mujeeb, sensing an opportunity, ran for the run but Naveen stayed rooted to his crease. All Jitesh Sharma had to do was throw the ball to the other end as Arshdeep dislodged the stumps. The ball was called a wide, allowing India another run out in the next ball.

Arshdeep produced a yorker in the next ball which was defended by Naveen. As both batters scampered for a run, Yashasvi Jaiswal ran off the length of the pitch to dislodge the stumps as Fazalhaq Farooqi departed without facing a ball.
