Rohit Sharma now has a stand named after him at the Wankhede, but the Mumbai Indians ace did not enjoy a happy homecoming in the MI vs DC clash on Wednesday. Batting first in front of a crowd wearing tribute shirts, Rohit failed to make a mark. The 37-year-old’s struggles against left-arm pace are well documented, and Rohit once again fell victim to his nemesis Mustafizur Rahman.
Rohit Sharma’s Wankhede return falls flat
Rohit Sharma was honoured earlier this week with the Mumbai Cricket Association naming a stand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The five-time champions also distributed special jerseys among the fans to mark Rohit’s return. However, the 37-year-old failed to make an impact.
The Hit-Man scored a boundary to get going, but his innings did not last long. Facing against nemesis Mustafizur Rahman, the ex-MI skipper edged it to Abhishek Porel.
