Big boost for RCB, LSG as BCCI confirms WI players availability for IPL 2025 playoffs

In a big boost to IPL 2025 franchises, players from the West Indies will be available for the entire season despite the clash with the England vs West Indies ODI series. BCCI were in negotiations with other cricket boards to confirm player availability for the later stages of the tournament. The likes of Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd and Andre Russell will all continue to feature for their respective franchises.

West Indies players available for entire IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the biggest beneficiaries after CWI confirmed the availability of all West Indian players for IPL 2025. England and West Indies are scheduled to play 3 ODIS and 3 T20Is, with a clash with the IPL 2025 playoffs. However, West Indies players confirmed their availability to their franchises.

That is a big boost to LSG, who will have Nicholas Pooran remain with them. The Rishabh Pant-led side are in with a slight chance to make the top 4, and Pooran remains crucial to their chances. Shamar Joseph, who hasn’t played a game this season, will also be available.

For RCB, Romario Shepherd remains available. RCB will lose Jacob Bethell and Phil Salt to national duty, but an in-form Shepherd allays some of those concerns. For KKR, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are available for the rest season. However, Rovman Powell will miss out with an injury.

For Rajasthan Royals, Shimron Hetmyer remains available. The Royals however are ruled out of the race for IPL playoffs.

CWI are yet to announce the squad for the England vs West Indies series. The 3 ODIs start on May 29 in Birmingham with the next ODIs in Cardiff and at The Oval. The T20Is will be played from June 6 to June 10.
