AUS vs WI: Alex Carey slams gritty fifty as Australia fightback after early collapse

Australia batter Alex Carey scored a blazing 38-ball half century as he led the side’s fightback in the 1st innings of the AUS vs WI 2nd Test. Carey, who was given a lifeline earlier, blasted eight boundaries and two sixes en route to his fifty.

Carey had a lucky escape against West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph after a delivery failed to dislodge the bails despite the ball brushing past it. Carey would have been the visitors’ sixth victim in the 1st innings as Australia lost a flurry of wickets in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test.
