Ahmedabad is gearing up for heavy traffic congestion as the IPL 2025 playoffs is approaching fast, with key matches scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The locals might have to bear the brunt of lengthy traffic and long wait while being on road. The same was seen during the GT vs LSG leading to disruptions on major routes like Janpath T Junction, ONGC Circle, and Tapovan Circle.
As per OneCricket, the road from Janpath T-junction to the main gate of Motera Stadium, passing through Krupa Residency T-junction and Motera Village T-junction, will be closed for vehicles. Alternative routes will be available from Krupa Residency T-junction to Sharan Status Crossroads, then onto Bhat-Koteshwar Road, leading towards Apollo Circle.
Authorities have yet to issue a formal traffic advisory, but commuters should anticipate diversions and restricted access near the stadium. A heavy police presence is expected at major intersections to regulate traffic and ensure public safety. Additionally, metro services have been extended until 12:30 AM to accommodate fans returning home after the match.
With the IPL final scheduled for June 3, Ahmedabad will continue to experience traffic challenges, especially around Motera, Sabarmati, and Visat-Gandhinagar Highway. If you’re traveling in the city, it’s best to plan ahead and use alternative routes to avoid delays.
