After Sachin, Joe Root goes past another batting legend to set historic milestone in IND vs ENG 1st Test

After surpassing batting legend Sachin Tendulkar in first innings, England’s veteran batter Joe Root went past former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting to become the highest Test run-scorer against India.

The former England skipper achieved the special milestone during the second innings on Day 3 of IND vs ENG 1st Test at Hyderabad on Saturday.

Root overtook Ponting’s tally of 2555 runs to set new record. The English batter achieved the feat in 48 innings.
