Adam Gilchrist was admired by cricket fans for his honesty and fairness on the field. The player who walked despite not being given out, that too in a World Cup semifinal. So, when someone questions his integrity and lies about him online, it is bound that the former great takes offense to it.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Adam Gilchrist bashed a fake news peddler who was quoting the wicketkeeper batter wrongly.

The original post came from a Pakistani supporter who criticized Adam Gilchrist by using a fake quote of his. The post made originally on Facebook read: Pakistan is the worst side Asian Team in Australian conditions, what they won here in the last 35 years.
As seen above, Gilchrist took offense to the false statement. In response, he wrote, I never said this. Absolutely fake, made up quotes. Pakistan were excellent at times this summer, against a World Champion Aust team and very nearly pinched a Test or two.
