2025 seems to be the year. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) might just break their trophy curse in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Right now, they are just 1 win away from reaching the playoffs and haven’t lost a match since April 18. Often, RCB scrape through to the final four. But things have been different thus far.
Everything clicking for RCB
A major change has been their great bowling attack. This is something that was lacking before. You had Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers carry the entire load. Now, it’s guys like Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who’ve done the heavy lifting as well.
The batting hasn’t been poor. Kohli has been the engine of the unit as usual. But Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar and Tim David have done well. Everyone seems to be playing a role, and rather brilliantly. RCB could very well stand at the podium on June 3, lifting the IPL 2025 Trophy.
ABD wants to lift IPL 2025 trophy with Kohli
And ABD vows that he’ll be at the stadium if RCB make the finals. Although he played for Delhi Daredevils from 2008 to 2010, RCB is his team. And he’s never shied away from that. The former South African legend says he’ll come to the podium as well and lift the IPL trophy with Kohli.
“If RCB makes it to the (IPL) final, I’ll be there at the stadium. Nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift that trophy with Virat Kohli. We’ve (RCB) tried that for many, many years,” said ABD.
