Aaron Finch, the former Australian captain, will make his last professional appearance on Saturday, January 13, when Melbourne Renegades host the Melbourne Stars. Speaking ahead of his retirement, Finch admitted it would an emotional moment for him.

The Victorian all-rounder has been with the Renegades since their inaugural Big Bash League season and is the second highest scorer in the competition’s history with 3311 runs at 34.85 in 106 matches, including two hundreds. The former Renegades skipper is second only to Chris Lynn.
Finch also guided the team to their only BBL title till date in the 2018-2019 season, when they won by 13 runs against a Melbourne Stars. Speaking to the media on Friday ahead of his final game, he said that Saturday’s match would be different as he did not get emotional during any of his final games previously.
“I haven’t got emotional around any of my retirements, which is quite strange. But maybe tomorrow I will. This has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life for the last 13 years and have put as much time and effort into it as I can and, yeah, it’ll be sad, no doubt. But it’s time to move on and the next generation of players coming through are seriously good. So it’s in good hands,” Finch said.
