You would expect Travis Head, who made his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) debut just moments earlier, to have some mercy on the 17-year-old South African pace sensation, Kwena Maphaka. But the southpaw opener batted like the debutant had wronged him in the past.
Returning to the IPL after 7 years, Head batted like a man possessed and crushed Maphaka’s debut dreams. The opener smashed a maximum over deep wicket and followed that with a massive 98-meter six over deep square leg to crush the 17-year-old hopes. As if that wasn’t enough, he struck two more boundaries: over through the point region on a full toss, and then an uppercut to the third man.
