GT vs MI: Jasprit Bumrah impresses with breathtaking 3-fer on his IPL comeback

Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Lasith Malinga, or Kieron Pollard—who’s the greatest Mumbai Indians player? The answer is Jasprit Bumrah. The fast-bowling menace, who last played in an IPL match in 2022, stormed back into the league in style. Making his return after almost two years, the fast bowler claimed a record-breaking 20th three-wicket haul.

He knocked Wriddhiman Saha’s middle stump back and outfoxed one of the world’s best T20 batters, David Miller, and young sensation Sai Sudharsan to restrict the Gujarat Titans to just 168 in the GT vs MI match. In the process, he also became just the 11th bowler to take 150 wickets in the IPL and just the second Mumbai Indians bowler to do so.

The world’s best bowler has overtaken another Mumbai Indians legend, Lasith Malinga, as the bowler with the most 3-fers in IPL history. Compared to Malinga’s 122 and Yuzvendra Chahal’s 146 matches, Bumrah has taken 121 outings to overtake the previous record holders.
