Indian Men’s hockey team squander lead to go down against Australia in FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-24

Indian Men’s hockey team went down 0-3 against 5th-ranked Australia in the penalties after a 2-2 stalemate in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-24. India remain fourth in the table with 12 points from 2 wins and 4 draws.

Harmanpreet Singh and Amit Rohidas has scored for India who squandered a 2-1 lead in the final minutes to take the game into the shoot out. India lost 4-6 against the Kookaburras earlier this month in Bhubaneswar, despite having a two-goal lead.

India started the game on a high with Singh give them a much needed lead in second quarter before Blake Govers scored from the spot to equalize for Australia. Amit Rohidas hd pushed Tom Wickham from behind prompting a penalty,

However, RohiDas made amends as he put India in lead yet again a few minutes later. But, towards the end of the final quarter India conceded a late penalty ending up in a draw.

All three, Akashdeep, Sukhjeet and Lalit miss during shoot out as Australi complete their comeback with a 3-0 win in the penalties.
