Mohammed Shami Stadium? UP Government to build cricket ground in pacer’s village

For making his country and his state proud, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to build a cricket stadium in Mohammed Shami‘s native village of Sahaspur in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The lethal fast bowler has been representing the India cricket team for the last 11 years and had played a major role in taking India to the ODI World Cup 2023 Final.

The fast bowler was awarded the Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2023 at the Times of India Sports Award (TOISA). However, as it turned out, that wasn’t the only thing he was being honored with.

The event, which was organized to felicitate Indian sportsmen and women, was also graced by the Chief Minister (CM) of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. After Mohammed Shami got his award, UP CM Adityanath revealed that in the fast bowler’s honor, the government would build a cricket ground in his native village.

The CM also revealed that after hearing the news, Shami’s father, Tauseef Ali, was much happier than the cricketer himself.
