PSG reportedly included Marcus Rashford in a shortlist of candidates to replace their star player Kylian Mbappe, who has signalled his intention to leave the club when his contract expires. The club’s football advisor Luis Campos sees Rashford as a potential successor to Mbappe.
This comes especially after the English forward’s impressive season at Manchester United, where he scored 30 goals in 56 appearances. However, Rashford has struggled to maintain his form under Erik ten Hag’s management this season, scoring only five Premier League goals in 23 matches and facing off-pitch controversies like missing training before an FA Cup tie due to a nightclub visit.
Despite these challenges, Rashford signed a lucrative five-year contract last summer, making any potential transfer fee substantial and subject to approval by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
PSG’s interest in Rashford is paralleled by their consideration of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who offers a more traditional striking option. Osimhen has excelled at Napoli since joining from Lille in 2020, notably finishing as the club’s top scorer during their Serie A title-winning campaign under Luciano Spalletti.
