Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday achieved a rare feat when he scored a century on the first day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. With the ton, Rohit completed 1000 runs against England in Tests.
Rohit Sharma wasn’t at his best in the IND vs ENG series before Thursday. The Indian captain got out quickly in the first two Tests, and that raised a number of questions on his form and fitness. However, Rohit chose the first day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot to silence his critics. The opening batter had his fair share of luck in his innings, but nothing can be taken away from his innings.
The batter completed his century in 160 odd balls. Although the Indian captain departed at 131 runs trying to play a pull shot off a short ball from Mark Wood, it wasn’t before he completed of hitting the milestone of 1000 runs against England in Tests.
The opening batter achieved the landmark in just 23 innings. He has now scored three hundreds and four fifties against the Three Lions.
With a century under his belt in the series now, Rohit will now look forward to make the momentum count in the upcoming innings of the IND vs ENG Test series.
