Yashasvi Jaiswal ends jinx against South Africa, scores 1st fifty against Proteas

India cricket team star Yashasvi Jaiswal finally managed to overcome his demons against South Africa as he slammed a blistering half-century on Monday. Resuming the innings for India on 7 runs, the opener slammed a 85-ball half-century on Day 3 of the IND vs SA 2nd Test in Guwahati. Prior to this match, Jaiswal has never managed to go past the 30-run mark against South Africa and had miserable figures against them.

Jaiswal overcomes demons against SA

Jaiswal slammed six fours and one six en route to his half-century on Day 3 of IND vs SA 2nd Test. The opener mixed up his shots very well and balanced aggression and patience perfectly, allowing him to negotiate South African spinners with ease. The half-century will boost Jaiswal’s confidence after he was dismissed for 12 and 0 in the 1st Test in Kolkata. Yashasvi’s innings came to a grinding halt as he was dismissed for 58 runs by Simon Harmer.

Before the IND vs SA 2nd Test, Jaiswal registered scores of 17, 5, 0, 28, 12 and 0 against the Proteas, with the first two knocks in Centurion in 2023, two in Cape Town. and the last two at Eden Gardens.
