World Record! Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar hits fastest first-class fifty in Ranji Trophy

History books often get revamped when it comes to Ranji Trophy Plate Group. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar became the youngest Ranji Trophy player ever, Kashyap Bakle and Snehal Kauthankar (Goa) set up the highest-ever Ranji Trophy (606-run) partnership. This time, a world record has been made.

Well, Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar has hit the fastest fifty not just in Ranji Trophy history but in first-class cricket history. He hammered a 11-ball half century against Arunachal Pradesh in the ongoing fourth round of the Ranji Trophy elite group.
