The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is hosting the T20 Asia Cup 2025. Eight teams are participating in the event, but only three teams have actually lifted the most prestigious trophy in Asia. So, who are the teams that have never won the tournament in either of the two formats?
Teams that have never won an T20 Asia Cup
Only two editions of the T20 Asia Cup have happened so far. In the year it was introduced, 2016, India beat Bangladesh to win. The next edition happened six years later, with Sri Lanka getting the win over Pakistan in the final.

Teams that have never won an ODI Asia Cup
Bangladesh has played all but the inaugural edition of the ODI Asia Cup. Yet, they haven’t won one. The Tigers came close in 2012 and 2018 but lost to India and Pakistan, respectively. Safe to say, they have been the most underwhelming team.
Hong Kong and UAE haven’t got long runs. Meanwhile, Nepal has played just once. Afghanistan have participated in the last three editions and have actually overtaken Bangladesh as a better white-ball team. Soon, they might either reach their first final or even win their maiden Asia Cup trophy.
