IND vs ENG: After Pope in Hyderabad, Anderson comes to visitors’ rescue in 2nd Test

Team England has made a habit of this. Every time you think, they are out of the game, just one players stands up, and takes the game away from the opposition. In the first India vs England Test, it was Ollie Pope who came up with an inspiring performance when the chips were down, and now it seems, it is going to be James Anderson, who will wreak havoc.

After India ended day two on top, with a lead of 171, and an overnight score of 28/0, Anderson removed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma in quick succession, to make it clear, that it won’t be easy for India. First he castled the skipper for 13, with the off stump going for a toss, and then managed to induce an edge from Jaiswal to first slip.

Both deliveries were such, that the batsmen had no chance to escape.

Anderson Record in Third Innings

The vastly experienced Anderson has bowled in these situations multiple times and knows how to trap the batsmen, with his dangerous swing. In third innings of a Test, where it is usually difficult to score runs, Anderson has picked up 163 wickets, on 98 occasions. Those wickets have come at an average of 28, and once again, Team India could be in a spot of bother, if they don’t manage to set a target of at least 350.
