Prithvi Shaw flops on return to Ranji Trophy 2024, fails to capitalize on good start

Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw failed to convert after getting off to a good start in Mumbai’s game against Bengal in Ranji Trophy 2024. The opener was included in Mumbai’s XI, making his return from injury. The southpaw managed to score 35 runs before he was dismissed by Suraj Jaiswal.

Shaw misses out on opportunity after Ranji return

Shaw got off to a decent start as Mumbai were put in to bat first. The southpaw lasted for 42 deliveries before he was caught out by Porel. Shaw’s 35-run knock was studded with five boundaries.

Prithvi Shaw suffered an ankle injury while playing for Northamptonshire in August in the Royal London Cup.

Follow-up MRI scans revealed a a Grade II tear of posterior cruciate ligament. He had to undergo surgery. After recovery, he reported to the National Cricket Academy of India in Bengaluru.

Prithvi Shaw has played played 5 Tests, 6 ODIs and a T20I for India since making his debut back in 2018.
