Sudharsan bats at no.3, Bumrah goes wicketless: What happened on Day 2 of India vs India A

Day 2 of the intra-squad game between India and India A turned out to be yet another eventful day for batters. The one-off practice game is the only game time that the main squad members will get before the five-match Test series against England. Sai Sudharsan, Sarfaraz Khan and Mohammed Siraj were top performers from Day 2 of the practice game at the Kent County Club.

Who did what on Day 2 of India vs India A?

As per Times of India, Sai Sudharsan scored a 38-run knock while batting at number three. It remains to be seen if the Tamil Nadu batter will be slotted in at number 3 in the main squad for the England Tests. Besides, India’s practice session in Beckenham earlier on Wednesday hinted at Sai being left out of the playing XI.

Sarfaraz Khan, who has been left out from the main squad, scored a “brisk hundred.” Keeper-batter Ishan Kishan managed to score 45 runs. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed for a duck.

India’s leading pacer Jasprit Bumrah surprisingly went wicketless on Day 2 of India vs India A in Beckenham. Siraj, who plays as Bumrah’s second fiddle, managed to get 2 wickets but was quite expensive, conceding over 7 runs an over.

Earlier on Day 1, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill scored half-centuries. Gill’s calm and composed knock saw him play some elegant shots along with good footwork. Rahul possibly batted in the middle-order. With the ball, it was Shardul Thakur who managed to take wickets and extract movement from the surface.
