In the fast-paced world of gaming and content creation, where livestreams stretch late into the night and content output rarely slows down, balancing parenthood might seem almost impossible. But for Gulrez Khan, better known as Joker Ki Haveli, that balance is both a personal commitment and a quiet revolution in the making.
A creator under the banner of S8UL, a global powerhouse in esports and gaming content, Gulrez recently crossed a significant milestone of accumulating over a million subscribers on YouTube. Known for his relatable and often humorous content across games like GTA V, Valorant, BGMI, and Among Us, he has also built a niche around roleplay content that often sees him posing as a Zomato delivery agent, a genie, or even a street vendor.

Yet behind the characters and camera setups is a role he considers even more important, that of being a father to his young son, Mazin.
“I had to rebuild my entire schedule after becoming a father,” says Gulrez Khan aka Joker Ki Haveli. “Earlier, I would stream till three or four in the morning. But now, with Mazin’s school, I wake up at 9 AM, drop him by 9:30, go to the gym by noon, and stream from 1 to 6 or 7 PM. There are days I finish my stream and realise he’s already asleep and that stings a little.”
Like many creators who live in high-performance digital environments, Gulrez admits that he has had to intentionally carve out time for his family. “Whenever he’s awake, I make it a point to take him for walks, play in the garden, or help feed him. Honestly, I owe a lot to my wife, Marzina, who manages so much behind the scenes. Lately, I’ve been trying to shorten my streaming hours a bit so I can be there more for Mazin and enjoy those small, everyday moments with him.”
His rise in the gaming world hasn’t been without challenges. Not long ago, Gulrez was contemplating shutting down his YouTube channel and returning to Qatar, where he had previously lived and worked. A call with S8UL co-founder Lokesh Jain aka 8Bit Goldy changed that. Encouraged to give content creation one more serious shot, the 29-year-old joined S8UL and quickly found a supportive ecosystem that helped him rebuild his brand and following.
While his numbers grew, so did his desire to create meaningful content. “A lot of my videos are built around helping others. Whether I’m acting as a beggar, a delivery guy, a vegetable vendor, or even a genie, the idea is to create something that motivates people and spreads positivity,” he shares. “It feels amazing when viewers tell me those videos inspired them or made their day. I hope that same feeling reaches Mazin someday. I want him to learn from my journey and my content that being kind, being helpful, and spreading positivity are the values that matter most.”
Gaming, particularly in India, is often still perceived as a young person’s pursuit. Few associate it with family life or fatherhood. But Gulrez is among a rare and growing set of creators who are challenging that perception.
“Gaming lives in all of us from childhood,” he says. “Some kids play casually, but some show real talent. If Mazin ever wants to take this up professionally, I’ll be right there with him. I’ll play with him and support him. The role of a parent shouldn’t be to say no, it should be to understand and guide their children.”
Gulrez represents a different kind of role model in the Indian gaming creator economy. He is not just streaming for views or building a brand. He is helping expand the image of what a creator can look like, someone who builds a career not in spite of parenthood, but alongside it.
On this Father’s Day, as the lines between passion, profession, and parenting continue to blur, his story is a reminder that it is possible to do it all and do it meaningfully.
