West Indies stuck in traffic, start of 3rd ODI vs England delayed

A weird reason has led to the delay of the arrival of the West Indies team at the Kennington Oval, London for the 3rd ODI against England. The start of the match has been delayed as the Caribbean team is yet to reach the venue. Why? Because of traffic.

West Indies stuck in traffic

The 3rd ODI between West Indies and England had already been delayed due to rain. To add to fuel to the fire was the London traffic. Meanwhile, England players were seen arriving on bicycles at the venue.

Due to a delayed arrival of one of the playing teams, who are stuck in heavy traffic north of the river, the scheduled start of play will be delayed,” an ECB spokesperson said.

As per ESPNCricinfo, “the (West Indies) bus belatedly arrived at around 12.40pm, with the toss delayed by 40 minutes to 1.10pm and the start pushed back to 1.30pm.”

West Indies didn’t get an opportunity to have a net session at the venue, as per ESPNCricinfo, thanks to their late arrival. Meanwhile, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and opted to bowl first in the ENG vs WI 3rd ODI. England are already 2-0 up in the series and are aiming for a whitewash against the visitors.
