Form is temporary, but class is permanent, as veteran Joe Root showed his talent against the West Indies in the 2nd ODI match played at the Sophia Gardens on Sunday. Chasing a target of 308 runs, Root completed his century to become the leading run-scorer for the Three Lions in the 50-over format. Root also breached the 7,000 runs, becoming the first English batter to achieve the feat in ODI cricket. Root surpassed his former captain, Eoin Morgan, to achieve the feat.
