The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 16-member U19 squad for the upcoming tour to England. CSK star Ayush Mhatre has been named as the captain for the side with Abhigyan Kundu set to serve as his deputy. The tour comprises a 50-over warm-up match, followed by a five-match Youth One-Day series and two Multi-Day matches against England U19.

Mhatre has been rewarded for his consistent performances for Mumbai in the domestic circuit and CSK in IPL 2025. In Vijay Hazare Trophy, he amassed 458 runs from 7 matches while he scored 471 runs in 14 innings in the Ranji Trophy. In IPL 2025, he amassed 206 runs from 6 matches, turning out to be CSK’s best batter in the season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket in IPL 2025, has also been named in the squad. He managed to score 252 runs from 7 matches in the IPL 2025, averaging 36.
Notably, Mhatre and Suryavanshi are the only two players who have played in IPL 2025 and have been picked in the U19 squad.
