The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have dropped Mohammed Shami and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The veteran pacer had missed just one match for last year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) finalists, but his performance hadn’t been up to the mark. But Pat Cummins and co. persisted with him.
Shami & Nitish Reddy dropped
In the first five games, he had 5 wickets but only took 1 wicket in the last four matches. Moreover, he went for 75 runs against Punjab Kings, the second most expensive figures in IPL history. Therefore, SRH has decided to bring in Ehsan Malinga for him.
With nothing left to gain, SRH are trying out their bench. Therefore, they have given Sachin Baby his first IPL game since 2021. Shockingly, the player he comes in for is Nitish Reddy. The all-rounder hasn’t been bowling for SRH, and his batting has been woeful.
Midway through the IPL 2025 season, SRH even demoted him from number four to seven with Aniket Verma batting ahead of him. They have also decided to drop Kamindu Mendis, the all-rounder who did wonders with bat, ball and in the field against Chennai Super Kings.
