IPL 2025: Virat Kohli smashes 5 records in RCB vs CSK clash, surpasses Chris Gayle with blazing fifty

Record-breaker, chase master, and arguably the best white ball batter in history, Virat Kohli wears many feathers. Now, he has added a few more. Kohli has become the first batter to score 8500 runs in IPL history. He also has the most sixes at a single venue in T20 history. As Kohli hit Anshul Kamboj for a six in the RCB vs CSK clash, he surpassed Chris Gayle. Kohli has hit 153 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, two more than Gayle.

However, that’s not all. Kohli also smashed his 300th six for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This is the first time in history that a batter has hit 300 or more sixes for a single team. Kohli, who made his debut for RCB back in 2008, now has 303 sixes in IPL and Champions League T20 combined. In IPL, Kohli has smashed 289 sixes. Only Rohit Sharma (297) and Gayle (357) are ahead of him.

The Universe Boss, who has the most sixes in IPL history, bosses the six-hitting records. But not anymore. Virat Kohli has surpassed him after hitting five sixes in the RCB vs CSK clash. Kohli now has the most sixes at a single venue. Gayle was the record-holder with 151 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

David Warner had a love story against Punjab Kings. He had the most runs against an opponent in IPL history as he scored 1134 runs. Now, Kohli has taken over that record too. With his 62-run knock, Virat Kohli took his tally to 1146 runs against Chennai Super Kings, most against an opponent in IPL history.

However, Kohli can break his own record twice. He has 1130 runs against Delhi Capitals and 1104 runs against Punjab Kings. Rohit Sharma can surpass Kohli if he scores a half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders.

He is the current Orange Cap holder with 505 runs, one run more than Sai Sudharsan.
