Shamar Joseph to return home to treat injury after Gabba heroics, will get hero’s welcome

Sensational West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph is all set to return to the Caribbean to nurse this toe injury. Making his Test debut in AUS vs WI series, Joseph single-handedly ensured Windies’ historic win at the Gabba in the 2nd Test.

As per The Age, a West Indies spokesperson said that Joseph is all set to get a hero’s welcome on his arrival back home. The pacer was to fly to the UAE where he will be a part of the Dubai Capitals. The pacer has also signed with PSL side Peshawar Zalmi following his heroics in Australia.

Joseph was struck on his toe by a yorker from Mitchell Starc near the end of play on Day 3. With his toe burst open, Shamar had to retire hurt. However, he returned the very next day as he steamrolled through Australia’s line-up.

West Indies clinched a nail-biting win at the Gabba in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test after Joseph starred with the ball yet again. This victory marked the Windies’ first victory on Australian soil in 27 years as they leveled the two-match series 1-1.
