Netizens hail Shamar Joseph after pacer powers WI to historic win at Gabba with injured toe

Pacer Shamar Joseph‘s 7-wicket haul powered West Indies to a thrilling 8-run win at The Gabba in Brisbane in AUS vs WI 2nd Test on Sunday.

The young Windies pacer, who took a painful blow on his right toe from Mitchell Starc’s fiery yorker, single-handedly took the visitors to a miraculous win.

It is West Indies’ first win over Australia in Australia since 1997. They have also become the first team ever to defeat the hosts in a Pink-ball Test match.

The cricket fans were in disbelief after West Indies’ inspiring comeback and lauded the young pace sensation for a heroic performance.

Check out some reactions:

West Indies have won!!!!!!!!! They are running around. Tears in my eyes.

Oh, Ambrose, Walsh and Bishop. Lara’s ton at Waca in 1996-97 to Shamar Joseph.

What a remarkable moment for Shamar Joseph and West Indies cricket. The most remarkable test win that I can put my mind on, given the context

Unbelievable scenes at the Gabba. Shamar Joseph has done it. Easily among the best spells that I have seen. Proper heat. The fact that he did it with a broken toe makes it even more special. Gabba has been breached, once again!
