Davis Cup India vs Pakistan: Indian players & support staff issued visas for tie in Islamabad

Finally, the Indian Davis Cup team has been granted visas to Pakistan, for their upcoming tie against the arch-rivals, in Islamabad, starting Feb 3. On Saturday, the nod came from the Pakistan High commission.

“Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi has issued visas to the Indian Davis Cup team, including the support staff, to play the Davis Cup World Group -1 Playoff Tie between Pakistan and India. The Playoff match is scheduled to be held on 3-4 February 2024 in Islamabad,” Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said in a press release.

Earlier, there were doubts raised if India would travel to Pakistan, amid tensions between the two nations, but as per rules it was mandatory for them to travel. Upon failure, the tie would have been considered as forfeited, and Pakistan would have been awarded full points, as per the rules.
