Impact Player rule in discussion at captains meet, could be removed two days before IPL 2025

The much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) captains meet is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on March 20, two days before the start of the new IPL 2025 season. Apart from this customary all-captain photoshoot, there will be discussions on major rule changes.

No Impact Player rule at IPL 2025?

However, one particular rule that will be discussed is the Impact Player rule. Well, according to reports, the substitute rule could be obliterated. While the BCCI announced that the IP rule will continue in the ongoing IPL cycle (i.e., 2025 to 2027), there might be a possibility that it will be pulled out at the last minute. Apart from this, quite a few rules and regulations are slated to be discussed at the meeting.
