Shubman Gill races to second in ODI rankings, could take Babar Azam’s top place at Champions Trophy

Four Indians in the top 10—that is incredible! The ICC have released the latest ODI batter rankings, and all four Indian superstars are ruling the charts. Leading the pack is Shubman Gill, who is in sensational form right now, piling up runs in the ongoing series against England.

India skipper Rohit Sharma, who scored a remarkable century in the second ODI against the Three Lions, is also among the top-ranked players, currently standing third. Both Gill and Sharma are extremely close to the top spot held by Babar Azam. Gill is just five rating points behind with 781, while Sharma is at 773. They are both chasing Azam, who sits at 786.

Also, the former Pakistan captain is not at his peak form, many believe that Team India’s batters will surpass Babar in this ranking race when they step into the Champions Trophy, especially Gill, who is performing exceptionally well. Take a look at the latest men’s ODI batting rankings.
