Deepti Sharma only Indian in ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year, Athapaththu captain

Deepti Sharma is the only Indian in ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year 2023 which is dominated by World Cup stars. In 2023, Deepti Sharma, bagged 21 wickets in 17 matches. Her best came against West Indies in T20 World Cup, bagging 3/15. Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu was named the captain of the team.

Deepti Sharma proved difficult to get away for almost every opponent in 2023, going at less than a run a ball across almost 60 overs for India. The off-spinner claimed 21 wickets in 17 outings, including four three-wicket hauls early in the year.
