Keshav Maharaj wishes for Peace & Harmony ahead of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha

The whole of India is eagerly waiting for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha (Ram Temple consecration) in Ayodhya. The historic event, which is set to happen on Monday, January 22, has seen several Indian cricketers get invitations from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra to grace the event with their presence.

However, it isn’t just Indian cricketers who are delighted with the news of the consecration. South African cricketer of Indian descent, Keshav Maharaj, congratulated the Hindu community in South Africa ahead of the auspicious day.

Spinner by trade, Keshav Maharaj is known to be a religious individual who takes pride in expressing it. The ace spinner is known for his celebration of holding his hands (namaste) and looking at the heaven when he takes a wicket.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Maharaj revealed that he had requested to play ‘Ram Siya Ram’, every time he entered the field in the ongoing SA20. Talking about it to PTI, he said:

“Obviously, something that I put forward to the media lady and requested that song to be played. For me, God has been my greatest blessing, giving me guidance and opportunity. So, it’s the least that I can do, and it also just gets you in your zone. It’s a nice feeling walking out (into the ground) to hear ‘Ram Siya Ram’ playing in the background.”
