Usman Khawaja is on course to take part in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test after suffering a lethal blow to his head in Adelaide. The opener was hit by Shamar Joseph’s pacy bouncer during their run chase at the Adelaide Oval. Khawaja was left shell-shocked by the fiery delivery, as he had to retire hurt after he bled out.
Despite concerns, Usman Khawaja assured his fans that he was fine. After the match, he shared a light-hearted post on his Instagram account, writing: “Thanks for all the well wishes. I’m fine, just wanted Marnus to have a hit.”

With the 2nd AUS vs WI Test starting on January 25 at the Gabba, Cricket Australia (CA) has provided an update on Khawaja’s fitness.
“He completed normal concussion assessments today [Sunday],” a CA spokesperson said.
Ensuring that they are keeping an eye on Usman Khawaja’s progress, the spokesperson said:
“Khawaja will continue to be monitored for any delayed symptoms. He will be reviewed again tomorrow prior to returning to training.”
