As per the Indian Express, a police officer in Ramanatham said that issues related to previous enmity forced him to take the extreme step. As per the report, the superfan took his life at 4.30 AM.

As per Thanthi TV, the deceased’s brother claimed that the superfan had a financial dispute with some men in the neighbouring village. He further claimed that Gopi was injured and upset after a clash with them. Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
