The U-19 World Cup 2024 begins on January 19 in South Africa, and as always, there are a lot of players to watch out for, in the tournament. Afghanistan has started making waves at the international level, over the last few years now, and have decent players coming through the U-19 ranks as well.
Prior to the start of the tournament, two of their players are in the news, for being related to the members of the national team. Hassan Eisakhil is Mohammad Nabi’s son, while Rashid Khan’s nephew Usman Shinwari, is also there in the team. Interestingly, both of them are openers for the U-19 side.
The duo were also part of the U-19 tri-series between India, South Africa and Afghanistan, where they managed to beat the hosts by 47 runs in one of the matches. In that particular match, Afghanistan was bundled out for 176, while South Africa was dismissed for 129 only.
