Who won Women’s Big Bash League 2024?

The Melbourne Renegades secured their first-ever WBBL championship with a 7-run victory (DLS Method) over the Brisbane Heat in the WBBL 10 final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, December 1.

In the rain-curtailed final match at the MCG, Melbourne scored 141 for 9 in their 20 overs, thanks to Hayley Matthews’ 69 off 61 balls. The Renegades also benefited from contributions by Naomi Stalenberg (16 off 12 balls) and Georgia Wareham (21 off 21 balls).

The second innings was shortened to 12 overs with a revised target of 98 runs. Despite a shaky start, Brisbane Heat’s skipper Jess Jonassen put up a valiant effort with an unbeaten 44 off 28 balls. However, her efforts fell short as the Renegades limited the Heat to 90/6, securing the victory.
