IPL 2025 Auction: The Delhi Capitals (DC) went ahead with four retentions, not involving Rishabh Pant. Axar Patel was their top pick at Rs 16.50 cr, followed by Kuldeep Yadav (Rs 13.25 cr) and Tristan Stubbs (Rs 10 cr). Abhishek Porel was the only uncapped retention at Rs 4 crore. Now, they go into the TATA IPL 2025 mega auction with a substantial purse of Rs 73 crore. Delhi Capitals started their auction by bidding for premier Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh, the first player at the IPL 2025 Auction. But he went to SRH for Rs 15.75 crore before PBKS opted for an RTM.
KL Rahul the biggest buy for DC
The first player bought by the Delhi Capitals (DC) was Mitchell Starc, who was bought for Rs 11.75 crore. They outbid the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who thought they had their former pacer for Rs 10 crore. However, DC had the final say as they bought the IPL 2024 winner for below Rs 12 crore.
The biggest buy was indeed KL Rahul, who was snapped for Rs 14 crore. Many expected him to get huge bucks, but DC would feel happy to get him under Rs 15 crore.
