Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin has an excellent bowling record. He has faced them in 19 Test matches and amassed an average of 28.59 wickets while taking 88 wickets. In Test cricket, he has taken six five-wicket hauls against England and has a strike rate of 61.86 against them. In the forthcoming series against England, Ravichandran Ashwin has a chance to make history as the first Indian spinner to 100 wickets against England.
Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma, may not be in the current Indian team management or selectors’ plans, but he has a great record in Test matches versus England. He achieved his greatest score of 7/74 at the Lords in 2014, helping India win the Test there for the first time in 28 years. In 23 games, he has amassed 67 wickets at an average of 32.40 versus England.
Ravindra Jadeja
Among active Indian players with the most wickets versus England, Ravindra Jadeja is ranked third. He has featured in 16 Test matches against England and is an excellent all-round player. Jadeja has claimed 51 wickets at an average of 35.37 in 16 games. At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, he claimed a total of 7/48 during his lone five-wicket performance against England in 2016.
Mohammed Shami
Another excellent bowler with a strong record against England in Test cricket is Mohammed Shami. In 15 Test matches against England, the seamer has participated and claimed 44 wickets in red-ball cricket against the English. Against England, he has a 38.30 average and a 68.93 strike rate.
Jasprit Bumrah
In his meager 10 Test matches versus England, Jasprit Bumrah has amassed 41 wickets at an average of 24.61, with two five-wicket hauls. He picked a best of 5/64 versus England at Trent Bridge in 2021, and he is proud of it.
