Making his debut on a big stage leading up to the T20 World Cup 2024, Abbas ensured that he was the better Afridi on field in the 1st PAK vs NZ T20I in Auckland. Abbas Afridi managed to get the better of his skipper Shaheen, as he finished his spell with three wickets on his T20I debut.
Abbas got rid of opener Finn Allen first as he provided Pakistan’s second breakthrough in the 4th over. He also managed to get the wickets of the dangerous Kane Williamson and Glenn Philips, making it a memorable debut for him in Auckland.
